This policy explains what information Inkwirely collects when you use our content distribution platform, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language. If anything is unclear, email info@inkwirely.com.
1. Who we are
Inkwirely Technologies operates the Inkwirely service at inkwirely.com. We are a content distribution platform that helps writers and marketing teams publish their work on a curated network of partner publications. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Inkwirely Technologies, and "you" means anyone who visits the site or signs up for an account.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details like your name, email address, and password (stored as a one way hash, never in plain text).
- Profile information such as your role, optional bio, and any social handles you choose to share.
- Content you create including drafts, published posts, and any media you upload.
- Billing details such as plan choice and invoice history. Card numbers are handled directly by Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Communications when you contact support, reply to our emails, or fill out a form.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data such as pages viewed, features used, and the dates and times of activity.
- Device data such as browser type, IP address, operating system, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Log data from our servers including request URLs, response codes, and rate limit attempts.
Information from third parties
- OAuth providers like Google. When you sign in with Google we receive your email and name. Nothing else.
- Stripe sends us subscription status and payment events through webhooks. We do not see card details.
3. Why we collect it
We use the information above to:
- Operate the service, authenticate you, and protect your account.
- Distribute your content to partner publications when you ask us to.
- Send transactional emails such as verification, password reset, and billing receipts.
- Compute usage limits, analytics, and reporting for you.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and violations of our terms.
- Improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns.
- Send occasional product updates if you opt in. You can unsubscribe with one click.
4. Who we share with
We do not sell your data. Ever. We share information only in these limited cases:
- Partner publications when you submit your content to them. They receive your byline, the piece itself, and basic contact info.
- Service providers we use to run the service: Hostinger for hosting, Stripe for billing, Google for OAuth login. Each one is bound by a data processing agreement.
- Legal requests when required by valid court order, subpoena, or law. We push back on overly broad requests and notify you if we are legally allowed to.
- Business transfers if Inkwirely is acquired or merged. Your data would move with the company under the same protections.
5. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Session cookie (named inkwirely_auth) keeps you signed in. Set as HttpOnly and Secure in production.
- CSRF token cookie protects forms against cross site request forgery.
- Functional preferences such as which pricing toggle (monthly or annual) you last selected.
We do not use third party advertising cookies. We do not use trackers that follow you across other websites.
6. How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep records longer for tax, legal, or fraud prevention reasons. Backups are purged within 90 days.
Content you have already published on partner sites stays with those publications, since they own those URLs once published.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights including:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information from your account settings.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Export your posts and metadata in a portable format.
- Object to certain processing or withdraw consent.
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email info@inkwirely.com. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We protect your data with industry standard practices: encryption of passwords with bcrypt, HTTPS for all connections, rate limiting on authentication endpoints, server side input validation, and CSRF protection on state changing actions. No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours of discovery.
9. Children
Inkwirely is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced by email to all account holders at least 14 days before they take effect. The latest version is always at this URL with the date at the top.
